Quorum calculator for meetings

Enter how many members can vote, how many are present and how many vote by proxy, choose the rule in your statutes, and the calculator tells you whether there's a quorum and how many votes each majority needs.

Your statutes and the rules that apply to you are what count: the calculator applies the rule you choose, it doesn't decide it.

Frequently asked questions

What is a quorum?

The minimum number of members, present or represented, needed for the meeting to take decisions. The statutes set it.

Do proxy votes count towards the quorum?

Usually yes: someone voting by proxy counts as present. Check what your statutes say.

What's the difference between a simple and an absolute majority?

Simple: more votes for than against. Absolute: more than half of the votes (of those attending or of the members, as the statutes say).
